About Henny Dagenais
A resident of Brampton since 1996, Henny has been steadily painting since she has lived here. She has shown an interest in art since she was a young child. Her father was very talented and so it ran through the veins. She took a career path in her adult life and later once the kids had grown up, she re-discovered her talent and joined a talented non profit visual arts group. Beaux Arts Brampton has been a learning tool for Henny and she spends volunteer time maintaining the growth of this artist run facility as well as finds time to paint in her studio. She enjoys painting in various mediums, oils, pastel, acrylic and her subject matters are mostly floral and animal portraits. Her love for Oil Painting allows her to be detailed in her artwork as she loves the maturity and richness on a canvas. For pastel and watercolour Henny finds her technique to be loose and fun with a negative flare, allowing no control and the ability to be free flowing giving a satisfaction from what will become out of her love to create a masterpiece. Henny is a member of the North Brampton Water Colour Society, Colour & Form Society, The Silk Painters of Ontario (SPIN), VAB (Visual Arts Brampton) and Beaux Arts Brampton Gallery. She currently teaches on a contract basis, Elementary Schools within the Peel Region. A private collection can be found in Florida, Montreal and Hamburg, Germany.
